Random Rumblings

I have crossed a line. I don't think I am old, but listening to some 20 somethings talk in a coffee shop say "But that is so gross, she is 31" I know I have crossed a line. This same couple talks about going to see Tom Petty.

Mike, I'm not sure if the official "line" is 40 but when everyone we seem to see at our normal hangouts graduated 10 years after us I guess the line is evident.
When I play basketball and say things like, "at your age you should not be tired yet" then I know I am on the line.

Shoot, I'm only 25 and today I have had back problems all day after taking several beatings from one of my students.

In one sense I guess I can say maybe you are getting older, and you will probably feel it faster in that you have worked with Middle School Students for so long and they have worn you down a little. But at the same time you feel younger than most your age because you have worked with Middle School Students so long. It works its way out.

But in the large picture of things you are still young. You just so happen to be going to a popular coffee shop right outside of a University. What do you expect?

After all it's not how old you are, it's how cool you are.

So break out your 20 sided die and roll for dexterity.
